Compared to the previous model, the 2016 Citroen Dispatch comes with significant improvements that will guarantee smooth cruise and strength not forgetting they have modified the van for comfort. The carrying capacity has been increased and the refinement is improved compared to the outgoing model. This has resulted in better performance at a lower running cost.
The new Citroen Dispatch will be one of the biggest rivals of Volkswagen Transporter, and will come with convincing features that can allow one to use the van even on snowy weather. It is designed to work as a town vehicle that is able to transport supplies for long hours.
Developed after a partnership was sealed between Peugeot, Toyota and Citroen, the 2016 Citroen Dispatch is made to carry a maximum of 1400kg, which is 200 kg more than what the previous release could do. It can also carry at as much as three Euro pallets and will be in a position to tow 2.5 tonnes (500 Kg more than the previous release).
Basically, the 2016 version of the Citroen Dispatch is an upgrade of the earlier release and is a promising competitor in the market. The Dispatch will come in three distinct sizes; the M, XL and XS. Its wheelbase is small and the average length will be 3.3 metres. This can increase to 4.0 metres for the XS version of the same vehicle.
When it comes to the engine, brilliant technology was applied to ensure fuel economy and power are all achieved all at once. The engineers chose to make more diesel engine versions due to the power needed when the vehicle is loaded. The engine line-up consists of seven powertrains, which are separate on 1.6 and 2.0 litre units.
With the 1.6 litre headliner, you are promised 55.3 mpg and 133g/km of carbon dioxide, which is an improvement if compared to the previous version. What is good is that most of these engines are installed with 6-speed manual transmission, with the 2.0 litre 180PS packing six-speed auto.
Among features upgraded on this version are the hands-free sliding doors that are easily accessible on a foot motion. The loadspace bulkhead has also been given a handy flap at its base, making it possible to use the full length of the vehicle after sliding pipes or a ladder beneath the passenger seats. All models of the Citroen Dispatch have been rated 5 stars by the NCAP and have autonomous braking system.
